Home Buyer's Comments

We purchased an Outback Trekker earlier this year from Alpha Fibreglass after much consideration and visits to the factory and discussions with Vicki and Allan. Having done quite a few off-road trips in the past we had decided what type of van we wanted: small, strong and agile with a certain level of creature comforts.

We were very impressed with the level of craftmanship and attention to detail that goes into the manufacture of these vans and the high quality of the specifications.

The build and customising of the van to our tow vehicle and other requirements was done exceptionally well with a lot of thought and effort to create what we asked for. The end result was everything we wanted and it looks great and effortlessly lives up to our quite demanding expectations.

The van, though small, seems roomier than it is with the fibreglass cupboards and solid Tasmanian Oak doors and a well thought out interior design. It is light and easy to tow and to manouvre.

These vans are hand crafted by a small team of dedicated people who take pride in the end result. We can not recommend the Alpha Fibreglass team highly enough for their great product.

Dear Vicki and Allan

Just a quick note to let you know that we arrived home safely on Saturday evening. We had a good trip and the van was brilliant!! As you said, it towed very well and we had no problems at all. We had lots of interest in the van and everyone was impressed with what they saw!!

Thank you all so much for the effort you put into our van, it really is a credit to you all, especially you Allan, you did a great job. We are really happy with it and look forward to many years of enjoying it.

We will keep in touch and give you any feedback that we think is relevent.

Thanks again for everything.

Dear Vicki & Allan,

We would like to congratulate you on the production of a first class quality product.

When considering the purchase of a caravan we did a lot of research into not only the features that we wanted but the quality of the finished product. Whilst the Cambridge Mark 2 suited most of our requirements it was the ease and willingness of your staff to add the extras that completed our purchase satisfaction.

The towing characteristics of the van are exactly as how Allan described it and on a number of occasions I have completely forgotten that the van was even on the back of the car.

The after sales service has also been first class, whether it be warranty work or modifications such as the “ hubby cubby” on the drawbar.

We are completely satisfied with our choice of a Cambridge caravan and would highly recommend your products to any potential customer.

Dear Vicki and Allan,

After over eleven thousand kilometres around Tasmania and three years later we thought it would be nice to let you know how happy we are with the purchase of your Cambridge Van.

We have been to many lovely places around the Island which would only been possible with a large 4WD.

The van has not let us down once in all our adventures. It has all that we require and more.

Also thanks for your great after sales service, which we have not needed except to ask about things which we were not familiar with and additions to the van.

We would not hesitate to recommend your vans and yourselves.

Hi Allan & Vicki, we have travelled 18,500klms with the first Outback Trekker made to the specks I asked for and I have to say what a beauty it is. Left Sydney in June via the Dimentina Developmental Rd(off road only),Plenty Highway(off road only), Stuart Hwy and on to Darwin, Kakadu,The Kimberleys and on to Broome. Then from Broome back along the Savannah Way taking in Daly Waters and Bolloloola. From Bolloloola the corrugation was that large that the 285/75/16inch tyres on the 4wd and the caravan went all the way down. We stayed overnight at the Heartbreak Hotel (Cape Crawford) where we met Frank and Maria with a 2003 model Cambridge van. We then travelled to Hells Gate R/H, Kingfisher camp and Doomagee. Normanton was next, then Croydon, Georgetown, Mt Surprise, Undarra Lava caves,Atherton tablelands including Mareeba. We then returned to Innot Hot Springs. After a few days we continued on to Charters Towers, Emerald and went fossiking at Rubyvale. We came out at the coast at Rockhampton and continued down to the sunshine coast, Goldcoast and back into NSW, returning mid September. We covered approximately 8,500km of real heavy corrugation, sand and dust.
A lot of interest was shown in the caravan wherever we travelled with many pamphlets handed out. We are running short! Gave a few to Frank and Maria and they want some more. Their caravan is going well. We will send you some photos of the van in various places.

Don't hesitate to call me if people want to see it or ask me about its performance.
