Home Outback Trekker. $40 990 + ORC

The off-road option incorporates the one-piece Cambridge Caravan fibreglass shell with fibreglass furniture glassed to the shell and floor of the vehicle. This is the ultimate strength/weight structural application for caravans, ensuring the strength and flexibility required for Australian conditions.

The 12mm waterproof floor is covered on both sides with fibreglass as are the wheel arches. The floor is secured to the chassis with epoxy resin and pattern screws.

All penetrations in the floor for water and waste hoses are sealed to prevent dust ingress. The floor is glassed to the shell on all sides thus creating a sealed waterproof base for the caravan.

This arrangement, when coupled with the shell and furniture design creates an integral unit capable of withstanding the majority of road conditions in Australia.

The strengthed chassis is constructed of heavy duty Duragal steel.

A rear bumper bar is standard. Axle mountings are supported with additional angle iron sections to spread the direct axle load over a greater area of the chassis.

An AL-KO IRS off-road axle with 10" electric drum brakes provides a stable ride with the advantages of independent suspension. Wheel stud patterns and wheel sizes must be specified at the early construction stage.

All timbers used for securing fittings to the shell and hatch are made from Tasmanian Oak and glassed in place.

A Vitrifrigo 90 litre 12v compressor fridge and a two burner gas cooker with grill are standard, as is the 12v battery lighting system.

A 4.5kg LP gas cylinder is located in an external locker with control valves to the cooker/grill.
